The Grand Palace
Cualquier visitante de Bangkok debería ver los magníficos edificios en el Gran Palacio para obtener una sensación de la grandeza del estilo arquitectónico. Desde la fundación de Bangkok como la capital de las Naciones por el rey Rama I, el Gran Palacio ha sido el principal símbolo arquitectónico de la familia real tailandesa. Los edificios principales dentro del Gran Palacio fueron construidos por el rey Rama V, que fue el primer rey tailandés en viajar a Europa.
Wat Trai Mit
¿Ha visto alguna vez cinco toneladas y media de oro? Wat Trai Mit, cerca de la estación de ferrocarril de Bangkok en Hua Lamphong, es el hogar del famoso Buda de Oro, de 3 metros de altura.
El Buda de Oro se cree que tiene de 700 a 800 años, ya que está en la actitud Mara típica de la época Sukhothai. Se instaló en Wat Phrayakrai en la zona de Yannawa de Bangkok durante el reinado del rey Rama III, donde se quedó hasta 1931.
Wat Pho
Este es posiblemente el templo más interesante de Tailandia ya que combina historia, ciencia médica y es un centro de meditación y formación en masaje tradicional. Su nombre oficial es Wat Phrachetuphon Vimon Mangkararam Ratchaworamahawihan, aunque es Comúnmente conocido como Wat Pho. Fundado durante el siglo XVI, Wat Pho es el Buda reclinado de oro más famoso, mide 46 metros de altura y tiene en los pies incrustaciones de nácar. Esta es la principal atracción que lleva a los visitantes al templo. En tiempos más modernos, Wat Pho ha obtenido el reconocimiento internacional como un centro de meditación y para el masaje tradicional tailandés que se practica y se enseña aquí.

Oi was fantastic! She had so much knowledge on all the temples and purchased water and fresh towels for us throughout the day. The only thing we had an issue with was that the time show on our ticket was incorrect. We were told to meet in our hotel lobby at 1:30 PM and we got a call at 8:30 AM saying they were here to pick up us! It wasn't a big issue for us, we just had to get ready really quickly. Also, the tour was closer to 6 hours instead of the advertised 4 hours, but we learned a lot! I highly recommend this tour and if you have a chance to choose a tour guide, choose Oi!

Our first trip in Bangkok with a very early start , we only had about 4 hours sleep from flying very late the previous night. A bit disappointing the trip did not pick us up from our hotel the Anantara especially when it was only our guide Ui and a driver. This caused us to have to take a taxi to the Sheraton which took about half an hour in morning traffic. That said Ui was a fantastic guide and it truly was a personal tour . Not having been in Bangkok before the heat and crowds were quite daunting and we would have given up a lot earlier had we not had Ui to lead us through. In addition this was an education , we were often asked questions on what we had been told . I think we passed the exam . We did learn an awful lot about Thai culture and Bangkok in a morning . That is just what we were seeking and although tired at the end happy to soak in the hotel pool we had a very personal and enjoyable first Bangkok experience.

Private tour, Guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Grand Palace itself was a beauty in itself with endless temples, great architectural designs and more.

Good tour of two of Bangkok's must-sees, and hotel pickup and drop-off well arranged. Saw all the highlights of the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, home to the reclining gold buddha. Take a hat and sunscreen as large parts of the palace compound tour are outside. Large crowds at the palace especially, but only to be expected!
