Mutianyu Great Wall Small-Group Tour from Beijing including Lunch

This is a no frills, no nonsense day trip to a section of the Great Wall. There are no stopovers at gift shops, only one stop at a public toilet and a yummy lunch at a restaurant near the Great Wall entrance. Our tour guide Emma spoke good English and was very knowledgeable about the history of the Great Wall. There was never a dull moment from the pick up point to the 2 hour journey to the destination. It is highly recommended to take the cable car up to the number six tower, spend a couple of hours hiking from one tower to the other....certain sections of the wall have steps 80 degrees steep...be prepared. Bring at least 3 bottles of water for each person, you gonna need them! Did I mention Emma was wonderful?

Our guide Emma was amazing!! On our way there, she gave us a history lesson on the wall, and on China. We also got a mini lesson on Chinese culture and etiquette which was very useful during the remainder of our time in the country! Once we arrived, she gave us the info about getting around on-top the wall, guided us to the best parts, and even helped us find the best photo opportunities. For the record, she's a great smartphone photographer! We never felt rushed and were able to take our time at a leisurely pace. There weren't any "side-trips" to shops or factories like many other tours do. The lunch is right next to the wall (restaurant was a 5 min walk from the entrance for the chair lift to go up the wall).

Emma was a great local guide for this tour! Was punctual at meeting point, gave good background of the Great Wall en-route, and ensured everyone had a good time on the tour. Highly recommended!

I am middle aged and relatively fit but was traveling with a lady about 80 with mild dementia. Our guide did a great job of balancing activity levels (I took tabagon down, others took gondola). Guide made everyone feel safe and well informed. Very historic info and low crowds made this a not to miss tour!

We arrived at the McDonalds a little early and waited for the rest of the group to arrive. It was a very comfortable ride to the wall with a quick stop to get drinks etc. Emma gave us the history of the wall and answered all the questions. Lunch was first and then we hiked to the wall - WOW is all I can say. It was an amazing day with an amazing group and we made some friendships that will continue past this adventure EMMA WAS A FANTASTIC GUIDE. She met us on the wall for a group picture which was an added bonus for the scrapbook. Thank you for the wonderful memories Michelle and Dan

It was raining and Mutianyu was closed. Emma took us instead to an amazing section of the wall, it was amazing. Emma and the driver did all they could to give us one of the best experiences we could hope for. Thank you!!!

Good experience, ran on time 8am - 4.30. About 2.5 hours on the wall. Lunch was ok. One water bottle supplied pp. Tour guide gave information on history of the wall on the drive over and was able to give us a little bit of information about the city.

The tour was exactly as described. It was well planned. The tour guide Emma was very friendly and knowledgeable. Every moment spent was enjoyable. Thank you again Emma for all the tips and assistance in finding other activities such as the kung fu show and Jingshan Park :)

The guide was excellent! She knew her stuff and gave us alot of historical information. Really knew her stuff. It was amazing that she memorized all these facts. At first I thought she was reading from a book. Very punctual pick up. Great tour, We did the toboggan ride down and definitely worth doing. Only disappointing thing was the guide did all the commentary on the bus and didn't continue onto the Great Wall with us.

Great small group tour with modern air conditioned minibus. Left on time with plenty of time to see all the sights. Recommend taking the ski lift up and the toboggan ride back - great fun. Lunch included was excellent. Emma, the guide was knowledgeable and friendly - helping with a quick course of basic Chinese phrases. Excellent value for money

Tour was great. Our guide Emma was helpful and friendly. meet outside exit C on left side. There's a small parking lot with the vans parked. She only had a very small handwritten sign and "travel Great Wall" in a tiny book so just be on the look out for that. Def take chairlift and slide. Lunch was fine.
