Saldrá del centro de Brujas en autobús y se dirigirá hacia el sudoeste hacia la ciudad de Vladslo, ¡primer destino del día! Se detendrá para ver el cementerio militar alemán de Vladslo, el cementerio alemán más importante de la Primera Guerra Mundial, y, mientras camina por la encantadora y tranquila zona, busque las esculturas de los padres dolientes de de Käthe Kollwitz: un desgarrador retrato de cómo la guerra afectó a las personas a nivel personal.

Continuará hasta la pequeña ciudad de Diksmuide para visitar la Trinchera de la Muerte, un tramo del frente occidental (las líneas de trincheras desde Bélgica a los Alpes) que ahora sirve como símbolo del heroísmo y la resistencia de Bélgica. Verá la impresionante Puerta de la Paz (IJser Gate) y la Torre Yser (IJzertoren), y después saldrá de la ciudad, pasando junto al Molino de la Paz Molino y el monumento canadiense en St Julien.

Hará una parada en Passchendaele y verá cómo lo que fue un campo de batalla caótico se ha convertido en una ciudad tranquila. Siéntese para disfrutar de un abundante almuerzo de labrador en un restaurante local y, después, viajará al cementerio de guerra de la Commonwealth Tyne Cot, donde 35.000 soldados de las fuerzas Commonwealth descansan en paz. La gran cantidad de tumbas pone en perspectiva el trágico tamaño de la Primera Guerra Mundial. Pasee y conozca cosas sobre la importancia de este solemne sitio para las naciones de todo el mundo, no solamente para los países de la Commonwealth.

Diríjase al hospital de la campiña de la granja de Essex a continuación y vea los bunkers impecablemente conservados donde John McCrae escribió su famoso poema In Flanders’ Field. Descubrirá cómo los soldados fueron tratados en los estrechos y oscuros pasillos de los bunkers y luego visitará In Flanders’ Field Museum para conocer la historia de la Primera Guerra Mundial en la región de Flandes con una visita con audioguía. Our guide was outstanding, as was the overall experience. However, my fiancé and I found it to be to long. The tour organizers need to eliminate one or two stops.

Excellent tour. Great driver and very well informed and interesting guide. More than we expected. Visited hill 60 site that was not on the original tour - this makes the company extra special with this kind of service.

The bus was on time to pick us up from Bruges. The guide Jan (John) was very informative and helpful. He accommodated everyone on the tour. The driver was amazing as the roads are very narrow and in a lot places were undergoing roadworks. Would definitely recommend

We really enjoyed our day tour of Flanders and Ypres. Our guide was very helpful and informative. A word of warning - the majority of the day was spent driving from site to site. Having done a similar tour 10+ years ago it's a shame there wasn't an opportunity to visit any of the trenches (that you drive past en route). We both felt this would have been more insightful in place of one of the 3 cemeteries that were visited.

Our guide, Stefan, was absolutely superb. I learnt more about WW1 on this tour in one day than I had learnt in the previous 55 years. I keep thinking about it - and recalling so many aspects of a deeply moving and memorable visit to Flanders Fields. Thank you very sincerely -

excellent tour , long day but worth it all. would like to see hill 62 sanctuary wood be included. Didn't have lunch in the cheese factory had lunch in the hotel was not told that there would be ham as both of us are vegetarians. We had to say to drop us off at the same place otherwise it would have been the station so he did go there afterwards. Hill 62 is a must in this tour it should be included

This trip was very good value for money. A long day about 9.5 hours but a lot was crammed in. The Tour Guide Johan and coach driver, sorry don't know your name, were very good. Johan was a fountain of knowledge. The lunch provided was also good. Would highly recommend this trip.

Amazing day though long. We were staying in Bruges and had to meet at 10.30am and returned back to Bruges at approx. 9.30pm.We were lucky enough to have good weather which helped as a lot of the time on the tour you are walking outside. Our guide was fantastic. Unfortunately cannot remember his name. He was so informative and knew little extras which made the trip more interesting. He conveyed so much information but did not bombard us so that it became too much to take in. The cemeteries and the battlefields sites were very moving and upsetting. There are so many cemeteries in this area. It is hard to take in the number of soldiers killed here and their young ages and so many of the graves are unmarked. We had a vested interest in the area as my grandfather fought in this area during WW1. The driver was very good and the coach comfortable and clean. We had plenty of time to explore the sites on our own and also to grab food where necessary. The lunch provided was adequate. Our guide advised us where to stand and at what time to arrive at the Menin Gate to be able to see the ceremony and make a quick exit to the coach park. All in all a wonderful day. If only all young people could take this tour then it might make the younger generation think twice about the foolishness and terrible waste of lives in a war.
