Excursión de día completo y caminata hasta el lago Humantay desde Cusco, Perú
Después de recogerle en el hotel, comenzaremos nuestra aventura hacia la Laguna Humantay con un recorrido de 4 horas en transporte privado a Soraypampa (a 3.850 m.s.n.m.). Soraypampa es el campamento para el primer día de caminata por Salkantay. (Para obtener más información, haga clic aquí) En Soraypampa tendremos un delicioso desayuno para iniciar el día antes de comenzar nuestra caminata. En Soraypampa comenzaremos la caminata hasta el lago Humantay (4200 m s.n.m.) con hermosas vistas y, si el cielo está suficientemente despejado, podremos ver las impresionantes cumbres nevadas de Salkantay y Humantay. Se trata de un recorrido de 1,5 horas de dificultad moderada hasta la laguna que valdrá la pena cuando vea la mágica vista. También es posible alquilar un caballo en su lugar. Dispondremos de tiempo suficiente para tomar fotografías, hacer una ofrenda a los Apus y, para los más valientes, nadar en la laguna si hace sol. Después de disfrutar de tiempo libre, iniciaremos el descenso a Soraypampa de unas 1,5 horas, mucho más asequible que la subida. Ya en Soraypampa, nos aguarda un almuerzo y después de descansar un poco, volveremos a Cuzco, donde llegaremos a las 18.00 h.
De 5.00 h a 9.00 h: Cusco - Soraypampa.
De 9.00 h a 9.30 h: desayuno en Soraypampa.
De 9.30 h a 11.00 h: caminata hasta la Laguna Humantay.
De 11.00 h a 12.30 h: tiempo libre.
De 12.30 h a 14.00 h: Caminata de vuelta a Soraypampa
De 14.00 h a 15.00 h: Almuerzo en Soraypampa

The hike was really lovely. The drive up could be considered scary but was great to access something off the beaten path. I would recommend going to Humantay Lake, but I would not recommend using this company. We were picked up by a taxi at 5 am and then dropped off at a gas station. A few minutes later, the bus full of other tourists came along and picked this up. This did not seem normal, and I was questioning the safety of this, so if this is how the pickup normally happens, there needs to be better communication from the company in advance. We booked an English-speaking tour, but we were among only 5 in our nearly 20-person group who spoke English. The guide spoke only basic English, so while things were explained in detail to the group in Spanish, the English explanation was brief if it happened at all. For example, the 15-minute Spanish explanation of the local surroundings at the end of the hike was boiled down to a 6 minute English explanation I timed it after noticing the pattern. We ate breakfast and lunch at the same location, and the food was fine. The most important thing was that we made it to the mountain and did the hike, and that happened. Just don't expect much from the actual tour guide if you have the same one we did.
Once there, it was amazing and worth it.Landslide on way added 3hr delay and almost canceled trip. Renting horses was the best choice as it was a steep climb and we had not yet adjusted to the altitude. It is a long drive on winding dirt roads.We got to-go bfast to save lost time. Dinner was good.
