Acerca de esta actividad
Meet your driver- at your Dubrovnik area hotel at 9am unless othervise agreed, and travel northward along Croatia’s picturesque coast by private vehicle.
After aprox. 1 hour driving we are crossing into Bosnia and Herzegovina to Neum, the country’s only seaside resort. Enjoy about 10 minutes to relax and have coffee (own expense) here before tracing the River Neretva through Herzegovina’s countryside to Medjugorje.
This small town became famous in 1981, when six local children reported seeing visions of the Virgin Mary. Since then, they have experienced further apparitions, and the sites of their visions have drawn millions of pilgrims.
After roughly 90 minutes, arrive in Medjugorje, and enjoy about three hours independently, with your driver available to provide directions and tips.
Visit the St. James Church, the 1960s parish church with its exterior altar that has become a pilgrimage center. Then, maybe climb to the Statue of Our Lady that commemorates the visions on Crnica Hill, and visit Krizevac Hill, where a cross erected in 1934 seemingly presaged the apparitions 50 years later.
Afterward, perhaps browse the souvenir shops and enjoy lunch (own expense) at one of Medjugorje’s restaurants.
Your trip concludes with a late afternoon hotel drop-off in Dubrovnik.

Was advised it was 1 hour 30 minutes from Dubrovnik. When our driver picked us up at 9am we were stunned when he said journey was 2 hours 30. We wouldn't have done this trip if we had known it was going to be such a long drive. However we were very pleased that we did go . Medjugorje is a very special place. Very busy place. It was hot i.e. 35c when we arrived August 28th. We didn't climb apparition hill as it was so hot and I doubt if we had the time anyway.
our driver was punctual, good driver, very quiet though, we would have liked comments about the areas we were driving through.
