THis visit to the Germany s Tourist attraction was Good in the sense the ride was good and comfortable ..as the guide explained the various important sights on the way .. THe castle itself was awesome and great as we spent the lunch hour there .. Over all a pleasant trip to one of the Key towns in Germany with Plenty of resources and home to Best University and BMW .

We enjoyed our tour. The tour was run on time and the guide was informative. There was enough free time at the Castle to explore on our own after the formal tour. There was also a brief walking tour of the city of Heidelberg which was nice. We were given a sandwich for lunch so no one had to seek out some place to eat which kept the day on schedule.

Bus ride to/from Frankfurt was so-so, guide tried to keep things interesting about the Rhine Valley and certain castles that you couldn't really see from the highway. Old town of Heidelberg is worth a walk through and the views of the castle from the bridge across the river is spectacular, as are the views once you get up to the castle. But I didn't think there was much to see once you got onto the castle grounds itself. Worth a visit but temper your expectations.

I don't recommend this tour. The bus was fine on the way there, and our tour guide was funny while we were driving, but once we got to Heidelberg Castle, he was of little value other than corralling everyone to be on time. He told us very little and when I asked a few questions of things I remembered from my childhood I lived there for a few years as a child, he literally said it sounds like I already know the stories. We toured the Pharmacy on our own, but never got to see the inside of the castle! No direction that we were not going to be able to either. The bus broke down after we got to the town square so we had to walk up to the castle too many people to wait for the cable car. That was a really tough hike and it was really hot. They gave us sandwiches for the tour, which were disgusting, we didn't eat them. And to top it off, I wanted to get a water color of the castle to bring home, but there was no time after because we had to get to the bus. Which of course we stood waiting for for 30 minutes. Pretty sure I could've shopped in those 30 minutes. To me, this was a waste of time and money.

Snow falling while visiting a magnificent old castle and town is a magical experience. Well worth the visit, although we didn't spend long enough on the mountain or in the old town. Both were glorious. Things I'd change: the bus was too cold and it was a freezing experience for an Australian. Unfortunately, the information guide's voice was drowned out by a large American group who seemed to complain and know more than the German guide. Very good value for money though.
