Stop At: Stary Kleparz, Rynek Kleparski, Krakow Poland

You’ll start your tour with a short wander around locals’ favourite market: Kleparz. Here, you’ll find a rich variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as typical Polish products like smoked sheep’s cheese, known as oscypek — trust us, it’s a must-try! Enjoy a cascade of colours and fragrances as you explore this market and all the flavours beloved by Krakow residents.

Stop At: House of Jan Matejko - Krakow National Museum, ul. Florianska 41, Krakow 31-019 Poland

The huge, monumental, Neo-Renaissance building of the Fine Art Academy is the oldest and best art school in Poland! It was founded by the Polish 19th century painter, Jan Matejko, who created huge, historical paintings known by every Pole. He was also the one who painted the interior of St. Mary’s Basilica, located in the Main Square of Krakow, for free!

Stop At: St. Florian's Gate (Brama Florianska), Ul. Pijarska, Krakow 31-015 Poland

Medieval Krakow was a small city surrounded by massive city walls. There were seven huge gates and 47 watch towers which belonged to different guilds. There was also water circling along the walls. Today, you can still admire one original gate - St. Florian’s.

Stop At: Little Market Square (Maly Rynek), Maly Rynek, Krakow Poland

This square was created as a meat market in medieval ages, but now it is the scene of many cultural and artistic events that happen almost every weekend during the summer season.

Stop At: Zapiekanki od 1980 roku, Sienna 3, 33-332 Kraków, Poland

In Krakow, you can buy zapiekanka (a long, open-faced sandwich) everywhere, but local residents know there’s only one place where this special dish has survived the turbulent years of transformation. A microscopic shop in the middle of Sienna Street, this place still maintains tradition and, since 1980, has been selling true zapiekanka.

Stop At: Main Market Square, Grodzka 2, 31-006 Kraków, Poland

Main Market Square is the real heart of today’s city of Krakow. The majority of buildings date back to the 14 and 15th centuries and have gothic basements showing the medieval level of the city. During the summertime Krakow’s Main Market Square hosts plenty of cultural and historical events including the International Jazz Festival, Independent Cinema Festival, Street Theater Festival and many others.

Pass By: St. Mary's Basilica, plac Mariacki 5, 31-042 Kraków, Poland

You should be there at the top of the hour to listen to the trumpeter who plays from the highest tower of this extraordinary church, a special signal to commemorate a legendary victory over the Mongols in the 13th century. This place is always busy, but around 2pm to 4pm there are fewer people, so if you can - enjoy the Basilica in the afternoon.

Our next stop is the Kazimierz quarter, which in the past was a separate and autonomous city created by the king of the same name, and now is the most recognizable bohemian district of Krakow. Although it can be reached easily on foot, we will take local transport.

Stop At: Kazmierz The Former Jewish District, Szeroka 24, Krakow 31-053 Poland

Jozefa Street has a unique charm thanks to its murals, small galleries and local restaurants. Here, you can find everything from handmade Polish pottery and elaborate jewelry to wooden toys, old photos or postcards and unexpected trinkets.

Stop At: The New Square, Plac Nowy, Krakow Poland

Wherever you look in this area there is a bar or restaurant, and many locals will spend an entire night in this one spot. You could meet up with friends at one corner of the square and then spend hours visiting the different bars around it. Every Sunday morning there is a huge flea market, offering vintage furniture, old records, handmade pottery and more.

Stop At: Ethnographic Museum, pl. Wolnica 1, Krakow 31-060 Poland

This is the main square of the Kazimierz district, established in the 14th century by the famous Polish king - Kazimierz Wielki (Kasimirus the Great). Nowadays, in the building of the previous Town Hall, there is a fascinating Ethnographic Museum.

Stop At: Krakow's Rynek Glowny Central Square, Center of Old Town, Krakow Poland

Marchewka z Groszkiem (Carrots with Peas), situated at the corner of Wolnica Square and Mostowa Street, can be a great place for a typical Polish lunch. The best choice would be their extraordinary carrot and pea soup, pierogi (of course!) or the menu of the day which is served (and has a very good price) every day except weekends between 12 and 2 p.m

Stop At: Father Bernatek Footbridge, Przy Moscie 1, Krakow 33-332 Poland

Bernatka pedestrian bridge is a great place for panoramic views over the city, as well as for drinking coffee or craft beer in one of many alternative small bars.

Stop At: Podgorski Cemetery, ul. Wapienna 2, Krakow 30-544 Poland

Podgórski Sqare:
This large square with beautiful houses surrounding it dates back to the beginning of the 20th century.
