Once you know your way around it is faster to walk. Many of the stops were not used because of the disruptions.

If you only have a short time to see Madrid this is a good way to maximise what you see. Construction works in one area slowed down the buses but this was all traffic and could not be controlled. In this case around Plaza Mayor and Mercado San Miguel, it was quicker to walk.

Very good overview holistically gives good background of the areas and helps determine what other areas you want to explore in dept. I do recommend it!!

Our guide was very knowledgeable. And groups were allowed entry early. However the tour was in both Spanish and English which meant it was twice as long as it should have been. There should be a tour for only one language.

Luckily the pick up point was only two blocks from our hotel. The audio is very informative. It is a great way to see the city

I would highly recommend the Hop on Hop Off Bus. It was very convenient with no problems at all. I will continue to do this when traveling abroad.

There are two routes on this tour, the blue and the yellow. You can do both loops in about 3 hours. The blue one is better than the yellow. The yellow one was so crowded that you were afraid to get off. Also, the audio equipment is in need of maintenance. Quite a few of the sockets in the upper deck did not work.

The Hop on Hop Off city tour is one of the best ways to see the sights of Madrid all in one. Very convenient and relaxing while seeing the view and culture of the city.

This is a very complex tour we waited for our bus for 45 minutes in 97 degree weather finally when it came there was no AC on the bus and it just stood at the stop for 20 minutes. We finally just got off the us and went back to the hotel I was so upset and annoyed. Your better off with the yellow tour bus.

I like taking these quick bus tours to get a sense of the cities I am visiting. They give you a broad overview. This one was ok. Pickup locations are not well marked so they can be difficult to locate. The length of the route was relatively short and in my case repetitive via the way the bus looped around certain areas. Overall, it was fine, but not essential.

The bus took us around Madrid and we were able to view areas outside the main tourist landmarks. It was certainly worth the price.

Dated of Joined 10 May 2019 Tired of waiting for the blue route, wasting 2 hours at Calle de Felipe IV, s/n, 28014 Madrid, Spain, we can only get out of the bus by bus, because there is not enough time, we choose the seat on the bus until we want to have lunch, leave the bus but still can finish it , we stop at La Osa y el Madroño, Puerta del Sol, 1, 28013 Madrid for lunch after interchange to Green route, same the place with Glue route. After lunch we quickly to join Green route, but we can't finish the visit place on the green route, because the blue route has wasted our time for 2 hours waiting at the bus stop. It is overcrowded and need to take turns for buses. Sorry, I wrote a comment late because I just returned from overseas. Viator trust and secure.

Do not expect to get a lot of information out of this tour but it is a fine way to get around and see the city quickly. Each location has only 1 or 2 sentences of commentary. Buses were packed with tourists and some of the headsets were broken. However the buses on both routes came around pretty quick and it was easy to get on and off.

Good value for money found it today be the best way to get a grip on what the major attractions were

Terrible traffic combined with road construction in Madrid makes any bus tour an impossibility. It took 30 minutes to move only 30 meters. And since you can’t get off until you reach a designated bus stop, you are just trapped on the bus. Avoid at all costs.

We took both the Route 1 and Route 2 tours, on two days. When one is jet lagged, it is the ideal way to get an overview of Madrid, in comfort. We do this on our first days in all major cities. One needs to be flexible however, because there was a Catalan Independence demonstration occurring in Madrid, and the municipal authorities closed or blocked streets, necessitating multiple detours and canceling some sites, and stops, and terminating the tour before its end. Beyond the control of Madrid City Tours, but, I think they should have extended the ticket into the next day, so one could see those missed sites.

We did the hop on hop off tour on our first day in Madrid (a Wednesday afternoon). It takes a long time to go around because of the traffic. It was a pleasant day, so we enjoyed being on the top part of the bus in the sun. The rest of our time in Madrid, we walked. Everything is very close if you stay in the city center.

Worked well to get to sites except the royal palace where we were able to get there but waited 40 minutes before we took a taxi because there were no buses arriving.

The tour provided an excellent overview of Madrid and was especially well done. The audio was clear and the volume was good. The historical comments were well timed. The GPS worked as expected.

Being able to see the sights of Madrid and get on and off as your please is a good experience. The bus itself, was not the best. The lines were very long to get on, and the buses were always very crowded. There was no live commentator everyone was given headphones to plug into their seat, and from there you could choose from about 15 different languages to list to the commentary in they had a version for kids in English and one in Spanish. The commentators said very little, and you didn't really learn much from them. Also, many of the headphone jacks in the seats were not working, so if you sit down, make sure the one in your seat works. The seats also have USB ports for charing your phone, which was great, as well as free wifi which worked most of the time. Be aware if you take this tour at night. The drivers do not tell you this, but once it is 10pm, the bus will stop wherever it is they do not go back to the main plaza, and for us at least, they let us very far away and it was difficult to navigate home. Other than that, I would suggest this a good way to see the city. Just be aware of the bad things from this tour.

Took this city tour some 3 years ago and thought it was great, but now I felt a bit disappointed. In several stops there was just so many people waiting and the buses wont let everyone in. Having to wait for an available space in the sun for over 20 mins is not fun. Some of the headphone plugs didnt work so you miss the explanations. Also, maybe they may change a bit the route to avoid construction zones since the bus gets stuck for too long. Still, this can be a good way to get the highlights of a city in a short time.
