VIP de Viator: acceso a primera hora al Museo del Prado con opción del Museo Reina Sofía

This tour is done in both Spanish and English therefore when you think you are getting a 2 hour tour, it is only 1 hour. Then it took about 15 minutes to get our Audiio, so not it is down to 45 minutes, and then the guide spent 30 minutes on the 3 panel piece. We returned our audio, left the tour and viewed what we wanted on our own. Oh and by the way, it is not skip the line by any means. Horrible, horrible, horrible tour and waste of money. My husband and I left and noticed that we were not the only ones that left. DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR!!!!

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and explained everything very clearly. Being a bilingual tour, it required too much time to describe the art pieces. These tours should be in only one language so time is used more efficiently.

We enjoy doing a guided tour of museums so that you can hit the highlights and not wander around needlessly. Our guide Paola was excellent--we were amazed at how knowledgeable she was about all of the art and she went back and forth between English and Spanish effortlessly. My favorite painting at Prado was The Garden of Earthly Delights by Bosch (so much going on and Paola did a great job of explaining it) and at the Reina Sofia it was Guernica. We had a little bit of trouble finding the meeting location. The instructions said to the right of the museum entrance, which is correct, but you have to walk back a ways to find the meeting point.

I enjoy art and history, but as I don't have an extensive education in art, I prefer to have a guide who can explain the history and significance of the art. This tour was just perfect for that. The guide was knowledgeable and helpful, and the group was not overly large. If you are wanting something more in depth and time to ask lost of questions, you may be better off going with an individualized tour. For the money and the time though, this tour was worth it. I don't know that the early access business is about--we did not actually get in before the public, but right when the museum opened. That didn't matter to me, but just fyi as that part seems misleading.

I have contacted Viator customer service regarding experience with this tour. First, I do want to say that the tour guide was great and shared freely his knowledge. My major concern was that I received a call from the tour company providing the service the evening before the tour notifying me that the scheduled tour was cancelled and we would be either moved to a 2:00 pm tour or could seek a refund through Viator. When I asked for additional details about the cancellation, they provided none. When I reminded them that the original tour was for early access to the Prado, and this rescheduled tour would be mid-day at one of the busiest times, they again, said the tour was cancelled and in passing noted that they offer no early access to the Prado. I told them and Viator that the description of this tour is deceptive. After several phone calls to Viator and over a month since our visit to Madrid, we were offered a partial refund.
