Su escapada de un día comienza con la recogida en el hotel de Mérida. Desde allí, se dirigirá hacia algunas importantes haciendas y disfrutará de un día que le llevará hasta el pasado y el presente de la península de Yucatán. Vea la hacienda de Yaxcopoil y disfrute de una visita guiada para aprender muchas cosas sobre su historia. A continuación, irá a la hacienda Uayalceh y disfrutará de una excursión.

Sisal haciendas producing rope and burlap were the source of Merida's prosperity, but became dinosaurs with the advent of nylon and plastic. The Viator info stated no casual clothes typo with swimming in cenotes part of the tour. Anyway, we booked this tour for a Sunday and ended up with a private tour as the only guests. Manuel, a great granfather, was a pleasant and informative host. The Hacienda was quite interesting with an enormous well for irrigation and heavy steam powered equipment. Accomodations for the workers included a swimming pool, a chapel, and a large living structure. There were no bedrooms employees slept in hammocks suspended from hooks in the living structure walls. Apparently, the owners lived in Merida. Contrary to the Viator description of the tour, there were not three cenotes with a train as transport to them we drove to two. The first was in a cave, with swallows flying all about. It was small, only four feet deep, and difficult to get out into due to having to cross jagged limestone in bare feet. The second was considerably larger and over 100 feet deep. One had to navigate a long rickety stairway to get to the water, but the swimming was delightful. The water at both cenotes was neither cold nor warm just perfect. Tour is recommended for historical significance and refreshing swim.
