Parte del legendario Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (centro de artes escénicas) en el Upper West Side de Manhattan, el Metropolitan Opera House es uno de los mejores lugares del planeta para disfrutar de la ópera. El edificio tiene capacidad para 3.800 personas y abrió sus puertas en 1966 con el espectáculo Antonio y Cleopatra de Samuel Barber.

Esta ópera de 4 actos, La Bohème, se estrenó en Turín en 1896 y ha crecido en popularidad desde entonces con su historia centrada en los jóvenes bohemios del París de la década de 1830. La asombrosa producción Franco Zeffirelli revive la historia de amor y pérdida entre los dos personajes principales, Rodolfo y Mimì. La ópera se recita en italiano, y el Metropolitan ofrece subtítulos en inglés, alemán y español en la parte posterior de cada asiento para que pueda seguirla fácilmente.
