Full bar services operate on the TSS Earnslaw as it cruises to and from Walter Peak and at the Colonel’s Homestead.This is at your own expense. When the TSS Earnslaw is on her annual survey a smaller boat will substitute. The next survey will be during dates 01 June - 5 July 2019.

What a great experience! The sheep shearing, the dogs herding the sheep, and delicious buffet and the stunning views! Excellent!

The best part was watching the triple expansion steam engines in operation on the TSS Earnslaw as we crossed the lake. There aren't many 100 year old steam boats still in use. The Earnslaw is a classic! The barbeque also was outstanding, as were the beautiful flower gardens. I highly recommend this tour.

My wife and I took the 100+ year old steamboat over to Walter Peak for the Sheep shearing and BBQ lunch. The entire trip was very well organized and both kids and adults will love being able to see the twin steam engines power the TSS Earnslaw. You can watch the guy shovel coal (1 ton/Hr) in to fuel the boilers. The sheep shearing was entertaining and the dogs did a great job of bringing the sheep to the pen. From there we went to eat a very nice self serve BBQ lunch. There is a wide selection of meats from BBQ Chicken, Pork, Beef, Lamb etc. Go hungry as there is a lot to eat. There was wide selection of desserts which were also very good.

This was incredibly enjoyable! The TSS Earnslaw steamer provided a nostalgic ride with beautiful views of the lake and Remarkable mountains. The sheep shearing with the sheep dogs demo was super interesting and the BBQ lunch was sumptuous with lots of quality choices, and all you could eat, in a stunning setting. Highly recommend this tour.

This tour is really really good. The first part is a 45min cruise on a 112ft coal fired steam ship that is fitted out for comfortable passenger travel. There are two covered decks and an open foredeck. The land portion at the Walter Peak farm is very good. It starts off with a sheep shearing and sheep dog demonstration followed by an extravagant bbq buffet lunch with all the food choice you could ever want. The return ship journey is accompanied by a lady playing well known sing-a-long songs on a grand piano. An excellent tour for good value.

We just took the trip on the Earnslaw which is a grand old steamboat. Loved looking around the boat and enjoyed the views.

Good way to “kill” 3-4 hours and have a great lunch. Food was fantastic but the overall experience in terms of the cruise and activity was average at most.
