Pappa col pomodoro (sopa tradicional)

My boyfriend and I attended this cooking school last week - 4pm-8pm with four course meal. We were a little late to start the class because of a large family who were on the fence about joining. This was a bit annoying but our teacher decided to start anyway... so we ended up a private lesson for two and had the recipes altered / technicality increased! We made a traditional Italian soup for starter, which was less to my taste, then pasta - a must-do in Italy, followed by steak and deep fried courgette flowers, delicious almond based biscuits for desert. Added extras such as bruschetta were given to us likely because we were just two, and all was served with a bottle of Tuscan wine. Excellent evening and great memories.

An excellent way to introduce yourself to the local cooking techniques. We had Francisco as the chef and Julie as translator. Our class only had four people so it was quite intimate. This activity beats going into another church, which are beautiful. Take the four hours and learn something and then enjoy your meal. What a bonus. DON'T miss this class. My wife is the non cooker and absolutely loved it. Don't hesitate it will give you a life experience that you won't stop talking about.

This was a great way to spend an evening - meeting new friends, learning a bit of Tuscan cooking and then eating what you learned. Lelle, Julie and Francisco did a nice job teaching and entertaining.

Lella is charming. We had six people in our class with varying skills. Her instructions were clear. And we had lots of fun. I am a cook but also liked seeing the process of an expert in making the cantucci dough and pici dough. I would recommend this for anyone wanting to pick up some tips and enjoy a wonderful evening with dinner and wine.

We had a great experience with our cooking class. Francesco explained in Italian and then Julie translated in English all the details for making fresh pasta, tuscano ragout sauce, steak with shallots and rosemary, sweet cantuccini biscuits and bruschetta with fresh chopped tomato. Individually hands on making our pasta and input for helping with the other dishes. Small class with just my husband Tom and a nice man from Australia made this even better! We enjoyed a great red wine to pair with it all! We were given the recipes and instructions for making later at home.

The location parking was difficult to find and drive to in light of Sienas restricted driving areas. The class venue was so hot, the menu very uninspired, the cooking techniques learned were not worth the price paid and the time wasted. The presentation was tedious and the translation also not a fun way to spend an afternoon in such an amazing place. Wish we had our time and money back and had seen the sights of Siena instead.
