Amazing experience we had an incredible tour guide he’s so knowledgeable and funny. The places were gorgeous!
The guide was very helpful and prepared so that we could appreciate the history and the landscape of the three places. If you love nature, beauty, history and architecture this trip may add a wonderful day to your israel experience.
Terrific guide and driver. Did a good job of keeping group moving. A very interesting and fun day. Highly recommended
Terrific trip, great guides.
The amount of history and culture wrapped in this one single day is amazing. The guide was knowledgeable and generally pleasant enough, I wish he gave more of a guided tour of Akko, instead of just letting us roam and figure it out alone. My only worry was that the mini van was rather dirty and old and the driver was a maniac, made risky choices in traffic like heading straight into a roundabout with 0 care about priority and missed slamming into the side of another vehicle by 10 cm or so and only used the turn signals twice, once in Caesarea and once in Akko. It's true that most people in the middle east drive rather recklessly but me and a British passenger both sitting right behind the driver had shocked faces every couple of minutes seeing how the driver negotiated traffic.
Unfortunately, the tour didn't allow us to spend any time at Baha'i gardens, just let us gaze at the gardens from outside for 5 minutes. The tour didn't stop at the Greman colony either. Rosh Hanikra is a nice place, but I have seen a lot better, and won't spent 2 hour driving there and back if it was my choice. Old Akko is very interesting, I wish we could spend more time there.
This was a really lovely day out. We kept to a good pace and got to see some great places. The cavernous Crusader underground buildings and tunnels at Akko a cable car down to the caverns at Rosh Hanikra, the much bigger than expected ruins of Herod the Great's palace at Caesarea and the informed and interesting commentary by our guide all made for a highly recommended day. It is a mixture of historical periods and, with the additional first hand experience of modern Israeli history from our guide, made this a history buff's dream trip. Even if you are not really into history the sights and experiences are worth the trip. A nice lunch of local fare too.
