As a standard rule we usually do a Hop-On Hop-Off Tour to any new city we go so as to get a feel of the city and then decide further and in Valencia we concluded that Most of the Monuments are close by in the Old city area and can be visited on foot. However its a good option to have a fleeting glance at most of Valencia and the green route which takes you to the Oceanographic Aquarium also takes you to the Beach where we got off and had the most fun. The Oceanographic Aquarium is large with substantial species count but I've seen better.. And it would take a full day to do justice to the Oceanographic Aquarium so that would make your Hop-On Hop-Off Ticket worthless as you are required to use both on the same day. Hence I suggest to do it separately if at all Aquariums are your kind of thing. The Oceanographic Aquarium also lacks sufficient eating options for a place that requires a whole day to see and the place was closed when we were hungry in the evening so had to get out.

This tour is ok for people who don’t like to walk or ride bikes or who may not want to navigate public transportation. We also did the hop on in Barcelona and it was much better. The audio on this Valencia tour was spotty and not very interesting. I’m not sure we saw anymore than we would have just exploring in our own.

While the bus is an excellent way to get an overview of the city the bizarre skipping soundtrack of the audio portion was more than frustrating. It stops and starts at will and often repeats some items three or four times in a row and stops in midsentence for others...or suddenly jumps ahead o r behind the visual tour. Trying to figure out what was happening was a chore.and ruined the tour.

The tour was excellent and the best way to see Valencia was with the Hop-On-Hop-Off Bus. It was difficult to reach the tour departure point - Plaza de la Reina. It is 45 minutes away from the pier. We chose to take a taxi from the pier at about 10 euros a couple. The taxi dropped us off at Plaza de la Reina which is basically the center of town. We walked around there and found an outdoor café for refreshments before continuing on the 1.5 hour roundtrip on the bus. We visited Santa Cataline Church which was near the center of Valencia. We decided to get off the bus on the second time around at a stop near the hotels that were close to the pier. There were plenty of taxis there and the ride was much shorter and the cost about half as much.

I was very disappointed with HopOn Hop Off. I was given to understand we could join tour near cruise terminal. In fact we searched for stop 7 for 10 minutes with no success only to find we should join At stop 9 which was 20 mins walk from exit to cruise terminal. My husband has walking difficulties so this was not easy. We found the stop eventually and waited almost 30 minutes. No bus arrived so we then got a taxi to Plaza de la Reina and caught the bus no problem. On receiving the timetable, which is not on your website, we found the first bus at stop 9 did not arrive till around 10.30. This info would have been useful to plan our day. The aquarium was good. This is the first time we have been disappointed with your service and hope it will be the last

Oceangraphic Aquarim is OK. The highly rated Dolphin show is flop wrt the dolphin shows of Sentosa Island in Singapore. The Hop On/Off bus trip is OK.

Highly recommended for first time visitors to Valencia. The tour gives you a nice overview of the city and then after you can choose hop off at any stops to walk and enjoy the city at your own pace.
