What a PERFORMANCE!!! I give it a 10. I have listened to many renditions of Vivaldi Four Seasons but nothing like this in beautiful church setting. The lead violinist was entertaining and true virtuoso. Together with other performers made it a treasure of music. Not sure how they can do this night after night..This concert was definitely highlight of Vienna visit. Strongly recommended and highly suggest front seats where you can view the expressions and movement up close.
The setting for this was exquisite and made the acoustics amazing. A top class performance, cannot recommend enough. This was one of the highlights of our visit to Vienna and will be a lasting memory for us.
The location, St. Charles Church is simply amazing, a beautiful location worth visiting even without the concert. The musicians were excellent, with a passionate, entertaining performance - much less formal than most concerts (no conductor, more casual dress) with a truly splendid performance from the lead violinist and male singer. Would recommend, if you can, going for the Band A seats as this gets you closer to the performers. Make sure you go to the right location - helpfully there are performances of the same music at St. Stephens church at the same time....
The music was great, with excellent conducting. The church has amazing acoustics for this small but powerful strings a ensemble. Only issue were the very hard and awkwardly angled bench seating. Bring a seat cushion!
This was a lovely thing to do in Vienna, the setting is beautiful and the musicians are absolutely amazing. Go to the toilet before you get there as there is no toilet access at the venue!!
Lovely venue. Amazing performances and the acoustics were excellent. Would definitely recommend this.
Wow Those performers made the violins talk. ,beautiful to listen to. fabulous to see in great seats and the location was wonderful. excellent evening
It was an amazing experience hearing Vivaldi's music with the ensamble of 1753-- I do not know if they change the orchestra but for my date it was vibrant! - A must do!
An amazing experience - excellent performance and truly Beautiful Church. A night I will treasure. I recommend you buy tickets for the front section for best experience.
A group of friends and I decided that whilst we we in Vienna we would take in the culture. Looking on the Internet we found this concert which was appealing as we all knew the music. We were not disappointed. The lead violinist was excellent, and the others in the group were very good too. All in all an enjoyable evening. Thanks!
Music was good but the cathedral is too large and it doesn't carry well. Hard to hear.
This was FANTASTIC. Would and will do again. Preceded show with dinner at Silvio Nichol and it was a magical evening.
Absolutely amazing! We had goosebumps the entire performance. The lead violist was gregarious, fun to watch and listen to and extremely talented, as was the flutist. The entire ensemble was so talented and you could tell the enjoyed doing what they do. We were fortunate to have the best seats in the house front row on the aisle- book early to get that! But every seat is good as you are there to hear. Highlight of our 3 City, 9 day trip by far.
We were jet lagged but so glad we dragged ourselves there. A beautiful church, stunning. The concert was fantastic, well worth the effort a truly must see if you love churches, music and Vivaldi. Absolutely amazing:
Beautiful church, lovely concert. Bought the middle price tickets, getting there early enough to sit in the first row of pews behind the reserved section. Could see most of the performers, but really it's all about the music. Because this is a church, note that except for some of the reserved seats that are set up in the middle aisle, you'll be sitting on hard, straight back, wooden pews.
Excellent venue and superb performance. A total joy. Peter M.
